Description
Avalokiteshvara – Sahasrabhujalokeshvara (11 faces, 1000 hands). A manifestation of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, the Sahasrabhujalokeshvara is represented with eleven heads and one thousand hands holding various symbols. Each hand has an eye denoting the "All Seeing-One." He is accompanied by Amitabha, Shakyamuni, Maitreya, various Taras, Bodhisattvas, abbots, and members of the Dharmapala (guardians of the teaching). May be Bhutanese or Nepalese. 18th century.
