Description

Padmasambhava. The great teacher who brought Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century is seated on a lotus throne. In one hand he holds the thunderbolt, in the other the magic cup. With his left elbow, he supports the magic scepter. Around him are represented the tantric Buddhas of the Five Families with their consorts, Sugatas, fierce and benign deities, the Teacher's previous incarnations, and Amitabha, Buddha at the top center.
